Terms of Service

Effective April 12, 2026  ·  Version 1.0

These Terms of Service govern your use of Expirify and its related services. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by them. Please read them carefully.

1. What Expirify Does

Expirify is a document expiry tracking app. It lets you record document names, categories, expiry dates, and notes, and sends you reminders before those documents expire. The service is currently provided free of charge, with premium features planned for future release.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use Expirify. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you create family profiles for other people, you are responsible for their use of the service under your account.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Please provide accurate information when signing up. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us right away at support@expirify.app.

4. Acceptable Use

Expirify is for personal document tracking. You agree not to use the service for any unlawful purpose, attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, use automated tools to scrape data from the service, upload harmful or offensive content, or take any action that could disrupt or degrade the service for others.

5. What We Store and What We Don't

Expirify is built to track expiry dates, not document contents. Please do not enter sensitive identifiers such as passport numbers, social insurance numbers, driver's license numbers, or financial account numbers into the app. The service is not designed or secured for storing such information, and you do so at your own risk.

6. Notifications

By enabling push or email notifications, you consent to receive reminders from Expirify about your document expiry dates. Push notifications remain active on your device as long as the app is installed, even if you sign out, so you never miss a critical expiry. You can turn notifications off at any time from Settings within the app or through your device's notification settings. We are not responsible for missed or delayed notifications caused by device settings, connectivity issues, or third-party service outages.

7. Intellectual Property

The Expirify name, logo, and application are owned by Expirify and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the service without our written permission.

You own the data you enter into Expirify. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store and process that data for the sole purpose of providing the service to you.

8. Disclaimers

Expirify is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that notifications will always be delivered on time. The app is a reminder tool and you remain solely responsible for ensuring your documents are renewed when needed. We are not liable for any consequences arising from expired documents or missed renewals.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Expirify and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to these Terms or the service will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or $10 CAD if no payment was made.

10. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us at support@expirify.app. We will permanently delete all your data within 30 days of the request. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without prior notice.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms as the service grows. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of Expirify after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ontario, Canada.
